I am freaking out! I am 6 months pregnant and used the fetal heart monitor to get my babys heart rate and it was an 85! Does this mean soemthing is wrong? I am pretty sure this was not my own heartbeat… Are these monitors accurate? Someone please help.

I tried to use it and heard mostly loud, annoying static and once I got it to quiet down while pressed against my belly i still couldn’t hear much of anything. I am just wondering if anyone else has used this product successfully. I know I am still about 8 weeks early for when they suggest to start using it for best results but I am sort of curious about if it will even work then.

At the beginning of the week I noticed an increase of fetal movement. I was able to feel and see the movement from the outside. This lasted about 3-4 days in a row. Well, since the last 4-5 days, fetal movement has decreased. I feel a little something daily, mostly a little in the morning and a little at night. Definantly not the intensity or frequency. My HB monitor is still reading a rate around 150. Should the movements still be this inconsistent at this point?? WOuld you call a dr, yet or am I ok since I am feeling a little somthing.

I’m so ready to get the whole labor and delivery over I can hardly wait. I’m very anxious right now.

My first pregnancy I had back labor really bad and I stayed in labor for over 36 hours. My little girl had some complications during labor (fetal distress and meconium aspiration). I went through 4 nurse staff changes, one being a horrible nurse that wasn’t paying attention to the monitor and let my little girl go into fetal distress. My daughter is 6, has cerebral palsy, developmental delay and hearing loss. She’s had a history of seizures also.

We went through alot of angry years trying to get over the pain it caused my little girl and my husband and I. It’s just something we have to deal with for the rest of our lives.

I want this delivery to be different. It’s a boy. I have a new doctor also. She’s wonderful. We did sue the state, but my daughter is damaged 4 life.

Any advice on how to talk to these nurses so this doesn’t happen again?

I just had an ultrasound done at 29w 6d and his femur, head, and body were measuring about 32 and 33 weeks. My doctor said its good it’s been consistant, but he still wants to do some “fetal monitoring” when I’m around 32 or 34 weeks. Has anyone else experienced a bigger baby that came out healthy and fine? And what exactly is fetal monitoring?
He weighed in at 3lbs 6 ounces when I was 29w 6d.
