Epiphany asked:

I posted a question last night about contractions 5 min. apart at 28 weeks that just stopped after an hour & a half. I went to the doctor today, & he did a fetal fibronectin test, & he said it tells if you are likely to deliver within 2 weeks time. I really didn’t think nothing of it because I had it with my last baby, & they were always negative this early. Well, it’s 6:00 PM here, & I just got two missed calls from a strange number. The phone rang again, & I picked up, & it was my doctor. He said he was calling to let me know the test was positive, that he was looking for it to be negative, & that means there’s a 99% chance that I will deliver in 2 weeks or less. Then he told me the next contraction, tightening sensation, cramp, whatever, to go straight to the hospital’s assessment center, & they were going to monitor me. He said in the meantime to get packed & go sit in warm water. I am FREAKING out now! Are these tests ever wrong?! I’m not due until February 6th!

Fishing Tackle And Accessories

asked:

I reposted because a user commented on my last post that it’s “physiologically impossible” because my baby is less than 3 inches and too small to feel. I had an ultrasound last night and my baby is actually really long! It measured 3 inches crown to rump, and with the legs included was over 4 inches! According to online charts this is more around the size of a 14 week fetus. I believe it’s not abnormal to feel quickening at 14 weeks, is that correct? Maybe not common, but not abnormal either.

I know that it’s normal to feel quickening this early in subsequent pregnancies, but what about a first pregnancy? I swear to god it’s not gas, I actually have one of those cheap fetal heart listeners, and hearing gas is actually all it’s really good for. There’s no sounds coming from my belly w/ the monitor and the feeling is nothing like gas at all.

There’s a few things I could compare it to, some very odd but this is what it feels like to me! It feels like when a person flutters their eyelashes against your cheek, or cotton balls popping into feathers, or a very small delicate butterfly wing fluttering. It only happens at night when I lie in bed and began 2 or 3 days ago at only 12 and 1/2 weeks.
Thanks, it’s really not like anything I’ve felt before, which is the only reason I felt alerted to quickening instead of gas. It is possible my dates are slightly off because my period was extremely irregular. The doctor chose to stick with the measurements of my 7 week ultrasound, though, because the earlier fetal sizes are much more uniform than later measurements, they tend to be off by a week or two once you get past 11 weeks. She’s going to adjust my due date if the measurements are off again at 20 weeks. I hope these flutters get stronger and turn into kicks!

Bulk Vending Machines

Well I couldn’t see anything because there wasn’t a second monitor available, but the tech at the end went and got the doctor. I asked if everything was okay, and she said yes. The doctor took a look as well for a few minutes. After doc asked me if my Down Syndrome test came back normal and I said yes. And the doctor asked me if I had any pregnancy with fetal abnormalties and I said no. Both of them said everything looked okay, but I didn’t feel confident. Especially when I saw that they want me to come back for a follow up scan. As I was leaving again, I asked one more time was everything okay, and the tech said yes, everything looks okay. Don’t they have to tell me right then and there if something is wrong? And wouldn’t lying to me three times constitute lawsuit?

Pellet Stove Comparisons

asked:

I’m 39 weeks and concerned about fetal movement. The first time I had concerns about it, I hadn’t felt the baby move in hours. I went in to the doctors office and as soon as I was hooked up to the monitors the baby started moving like crazy. My doctor was just like okay go home and looked at me like I was crazy. (I only went in after not feeling the baby for hours after trying everything to get the baby to move) The second time I went in because I was having a decrease in movement I went to L&D as it was after doctors office hours, and again, as soon as I was hooked up the baby started moving like there was no tomorrow. I was also informed that I was having some false labor contractions. Since then the baby still hasn’t been moving much but enough that I was okay with not being checked. The 3rd time I was hooked up was after my fiancee had to slam on the car breaks to avoid hitting a drunken idiot who jumped out in front of our car. We went to L&D because of the pressure of the seat belt on my body. They hooked me up and I was having quite a few contractions but they still weren’t regular (at that point it had been over a week since the beginning of my false labor contractions). The nurse had me hooked up for 30 minutes and wasn’t happy with the little movement from the baby so they kept me another hour and the baby finally perked up a bit and they sent me home. Since then the movements have been here and there but I don’t want to even call my doctor because she does nothing but give me attitude and dismiss my concerns. I have a doctors appointment today and haven’t felt the baby move since I woke up over 2 hours ago. I also usually feel the baby move through the night as I’m tossing and turning in bed but I felt nothing last night. The doctor told me last week she’s going to hook me up to the monitor at my appointment and I want to mention the lack of movement but I don’t want her just dismissing me again and I’m afraid the baby will start dancing as soon as I’m hooked up making me look like an idiot. How do I get my concerns through to my doctor and get her to take me seriously? I obviously have problems with her but at this point I can’t change doctors.
I know that fetal movements slows but it’s gone from baby moving constantly all day long to moving maybe a few times a day, it’s a completely drastic difference in movement, not just slowing over time.

Custom Home Closet Designs
