Questions for those who have fetal heart monitors?

Posted by admin
KC asked:

I just ordered a fetal heart monitor and I had a couple of questions for the ladies that are also using one.

I bought the gel that goes with it, but do you have to use that?

I’m be about 26 weeks when it gets here and I was wondering if anyone knew where I should be aiming it? Like underneath my belly button and to the side or above my belly button.
Was it easy to distinguish between your heartbeat and the baby’s?

I just figured that I’d save myself a bunch of worrying by getting one. I just hope it’s as good as I hear.
Thanks for the answers. I am so excited to get it and put my mind as ease.

haha this might sound weird but I borrowed mine from someone and I use KY Jelly, the jelly not the liquid, and it works just as well. I can also find it in local stores, where the gel is harder to find. I would aim on the left or right of your belly button not too low but more in the middle of your pelvic bone and belly button. You’ll definitely be able to tell your babies heartbeat. Congrats!

Baby’s heart rate will be a lot faster than your own so practice on yourself so you know YOUR heartbeat so you can tell it apart from baby’s.

      Good luck
